As of July 10, FEMA, HHS, and the private sector combined have coordinated the delivery of or are currently shipping: 181.8 million N95 respirators, 746.5 million surgical masks, 30.6 million face shields, 329.1 million surgical gowns/coveralls and over 19.1 billion gloves.   Although a success, these are consumable PPE utilized daily requiring new supplies to meet the high demand among healthcare workers and EMS personnel, particularly in areas where COVID-19 cases are significantly increasing.  Preservation strategies are needed for healthcare workers and EMS personnel to maximize their existing PPE commodities during this crisis capacity environment where many organizations are operating with less than 3 days of supply on-hand.  Under the theme of Reduce, Reuse and Repurpose, PPE Preservation Strategies will significantly reduce organizational demand of these consumable supplies, while still protecting healthcare workers and EMS personnel until new supplies are delivered.  This presentation details best practices of each of these preservation strategies aiming to change organizational and individual behaviors in how PPE is used as well as effectiveness of current disinfection/reuse of N95 methods.  You can access the ASPR TRACIE link on PPE Preservation: https://files.asprtracie.hhs.gov/documents/fema-fact-sheet-ppe-preservation-best-practices-update—14-july-2020.pdf
