EMS in Texas Workers’ Comp Due to Air Medical?

The State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) released a ruling on September 8, 2015 that ruled that PHI Air Medical should be reimbursed 149 percent of Medicare for air ambulance services within the Texas Workers’ Comp program.

Both industry and policymakers are in the process of digesting the ALJ decision. Ultimately, it could lead to a fee schedule for all types of EMS – ground and air – within the Texas Workers’ Comp program.
