Fuel Tax Relief Bill for EMS Introduced in Austin

Texas State Rep. Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound) introduced HB 1332, which would provide fuel tax relief to EMS agencies that provide 9-1-1 services for Texas communities.  The Texas EMS Alliance strongly supports HB 1332.  Click here for more information.

First responders such as fire and police receive fuel tax relief. Also, the 2015 Texas Legislature passed a provision for some EMS agencies that are set up as non-profit entities to receive fuel tax relief. However, EMS agencies such as city- and county-owned third service EMS agencies, hospital-based EMS, and other entities hired by cities and counties to provide 9-1-1 services do not receive fuel tax relief.
