Today, the American Medical Association and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that providers will have a one-year grace period once ICD-10 goes into effect on October 1, 2015.  This will allow providers to still be reimbursed if their coding error is within the broad family of the correct code.
