Novitas will hold another webinar on Medicare’s new prior authorization program for Texas on Tuesday, November 16. Participants must register in advance.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) just released plans for the nationwide expansion of the prior authorization program for repetitive scheduled non-emergent ambulance transports (RSNAT).  JH ambulance suppliers garaged in the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas are now included in this initiative. Additional states will follow the schedule announced August 26, 2021, by CMS.

Providers can begin submitting prior authorization requests on November 17, 2021, for dates of service on and after December 1, 2021. Visit the newly launched Prior authorization (PA) program for repetitive scheduled non-emergent ambulance transport (RSNAT) page for more information.

Register now for our free educational event on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, to learn more about the prior authorization program. We encourage suppliers to set up an account and register for the event as soon as possible to avoid any issues the day of the event. Additional events will be posted for December and January.
