Support Medicaid Supplemental and Bridge Funding Programs for EMS

The Texas House’s Human Services Committee will consider two bills on April 9 – HB 2333 and HB 2409 – that would enhance Medicaid funding for Texas EMS agencies that provide 911 services.

Texas EMS agencies are encouraged to e-mail members of the committee to urge them to support the bills.

Background
HB 2333 by Rep. Chris Paddie (R-Marshall) would create a Medicaid “bridge funding” program for entities that deliver 911 services to Texas communities by drawing down additional Medicaid funds at no extra cost to the state.

HB 2409 by Rep. Stephanie Klick (R-Fort Worth) would continue the state’s Medicaid supplemental funding program for municipal EMS agencies.

Contact Lawmakers on the Committee
If you live in and work in the region of any of the members of the committee, please contact them before the hearing to ask them to support both HB 2333 and HB 2409.

The ask is simple:

  • Tell them about your EMS agency and the important services that you provide to their communities.
  • Ask them to support HB 2333 and HB 2409. These bills would provide important additional Medicaid funding at no additional cost to the state.
